Pleasant Hill School

The Pleasant Hill School is located on the east end of the village of Ten Mile across the road from the Pleasant Hill Church.  An old brick building built before 1865, stood until 1885 when it was removed to make room for the new frame building that is still there.  The new building was erected by Isaac R Clayton at a cost of $845.  The school was closed in January 1952 when the children moved to the new Amity Elementary School.

The last teacher at Pleasant Hill from 1946 to 1952 was Chester Bailey, who moved with the children to Amity.
