Built to honor the veterans of the World Wars from the village of Lone Pine, the monument was restored and expanded to include all veterans by the Amwell Township Historical Society in 2016.

Solomon Spaulding (Feb 20 1761 – Oct 20 1816)

In 1814, he and his family moved to this house in Amity, Pennsylvania, where he died two years later. In 1832, Latter Day Saint missionaries preached from the Book of Mormon, and friends of Spaulding felt that the Mormon text resembled the story written by Spalding years before.  Several years later, Spalding's widow and daughter, other residents of Conneaut, and residents of Amity, Pennsylvania, also signed statements indicating that Spalding had authored a manuscript that was very similar to the Book of Mormon.

Morgan Martin (Oct 19 1823 – Mar 5, 1909)

The mill was purchased May 31, 1844 by Joseph Martin from his brother in law, John Iams Jr, and has since been known as Martin’s Mill (now Rudnick’s).  Morgan Martin took over for his father and opened the general store in 1876.  Morgan was known as one of the wealthiest men in the area as the proprietor of the grist mill, general store and postmaster of the post office located in his general store.  On September 18, 1856, he was united in marriage with Anna Reese, and they raised 8 children together. The mill was sold, dismantled and moved to a farm museum in Colorado.

As many communities did, Amity constructed an honor roll for the veterans of WW I & WW II.  First was a wooden one and then the stone one.  The stone monument was dedicated on May 31, 1948.

Judge James Chambers (Jan 11, 1812 – Jan 25, 1898)

He is considered one of the most esteemed and honored residents of Amwell township. His grandfather, James Chambers, emigrated to America, and in 1797 located his family in Amwell township, on Bane's fork of Ten Mile creek.  In politics Judge Chambers was for many years one of the most active men in the county, originally as an uncompromising Whig, afterward as a member of the American party, and he was one of the "Committee of Ten" appointed to sit in convention for the purpose of organizing the Republican party in Washington county.
