Chestnut Ridge School

Originally named the Crile School, the Chestnut Ridge School was located on Chestnut Ridge Rd.  It was erected in 1892 by Abe McGinnis at a price of $785 to replace an earlier building located a short distance to the west.  The school closed in 1948 and the children went to the Lone Pine School. The old building was sold for $20

In the 1970' Clifford Watkins lived on the grounds where the second school was.
