Lone Pine Elementary School

This school was built in 1928. It consisted of four upper class rooms, one of which was used as a supply room; the Principal’s Office was also on the upper floor; and downstairs there was a furnace room, storage room, and a large auditorium or play-area. Rest rooms were on the upper floor. A new addition was started to this school in July 1954 and consisted of two new classrooms on the upper floor and the original basement and play-area was turned into two classrooms; then a larger auditorium or play-area, and a kitchen was also added to the basement. The school cafeteria was started in the fall of 1959, serving the children a hot lunch every day. The first cook of the cafeteria was Mrs. Earle M. (Norma Briggs) Bayne, until the spring of 1960, giving it up due to health reasons. Mrs. Florence Donahoo then replaced Mrs. Bayne. In 1968, the cooks are Mrs. Florence (Frenchie) Donahoo and assisted by Mrs. James F. (Martha) Bayne.  Frenchie was still cooking through the 1980’s  The school was converted into apartments after it closed and children moved to the new Trinity South Elementary School Jan 17, 1995.
